Being Present Takes Practice

Focusing your Inner Attention in the present moment takes a lot of practice and therefore a lot of patience. Remind yourself that this is a process, and like any great skill it takes practice.

Many times throughout your day, you will find your Awareness “waking up” to the fact that your Inner Attention is not present, but lost in your Chattering Mind.

Don’t fret! This is common to all Adventurers and a large part of your journey.

This “waking up” is a gift.

You remembered your Awareness and now it becomes an opportunity to practice placing your Inner Attention back in the present, back in your Open Mind by using your Breath, Body or Silence as an anchor.

Here, you can hold the stories that you find with the light of your Awareness and the clarity of your Inner Attention, instead of getting unconsciously lost or caught up in them.
